BDCA has been shortlisted as one of the People Powered Place projects that could get up to £20,000 funding – with your help!

Please vote for our project ‘VolunteE6 – Bonny Downs Community Association’ to help us cover costs of our volunteer led activities for children and families.

To vote you need to register on www.newham.gov.uk/thebigvote, The vote is open to anyone 13 years old and older. Everyone has 10 votes that they can use to vote for their 10 favourite shortlisted projects in their Community Neighbourhood (ours being East Ham) .

Please vote for ‘VolunteE6 – Bonny Downs Community Association’ and nine other projects you think will benefit our area. Once you have selected your 10 favourite projects, click ‘Submit’ at the top of the page. You can modify your vote until 12 November.

There will also be an in-person voting opportunity at The Big Vote Event in East Ham Library from 10:30 am – 12:30 pm on Saturday 4^th November where BDCA will have a table.

If enough people vote for us, we will receive £20k grant towards a range of volunteering-related activities across our Children and Families Project, which we hope to spend as follows:

• £3,975 to pilot a new monthly after school craft club for primary aged kids and their parents
• £3,120 Tots Go Wild running costs for one year so parents can keep volunteering to lead fun crafts
• £1,500 for a installation of a Plant wall at Flanders Playing Fields
• £1,200 Family Hub interfaith event decorations and entertainment budget so volunteers can help plan celebrations
• £500 for volunteer appreciation certificates and gifts at the end of 2024
• Additional funds to help support staff overseeing the new activities and behind the scenes project expenses like HR/Accounting and Safeguarding
