Over the festive period our staff and volunteers worked hard to spread joy and cheer across our local community. Let’s look back at some of those joyful events!

Our friends from Excel London provided their annual Christmas dinner for our Foodbank guests and volunteers and our friends at NewWay! There were over 120 meals served and lots of candy floss enjoyed.

Our successful Toy Appeal enabled over 200 gifts delivered by Bonny Down’s resident Santa! Thank you to all the individuals who donated, and to ELBA, Precision Proco and Baring Banks for donating toys.

Our Food and Families Team received thank you’s from some of the children who received gifts which you can listen to below!

Our Over 65’s had a busy couple of weeks with multiple trips and events. They visited Brick Lane Music Hall to see ‘The Magic of Christmas’, experienced the beautiful Christmas Market at Polhill Garden Centre in Kent and had their annual Turkey & Tinsel weekend getaway with plenty of singing and dancing. They also had a Christmas party at which they received lovely winter care packages thanks to Rothesay Foundation and East End Community Foundation.

Our Foodbank also received new clothing and tinned food thanks to our friends at Primark.

Over 70 residents gathered for our Community Garden’s Interfaith Christmas event, roasting marshmallows on the fire pit, browsing our sales table, free hot drinks and snacks from our Community Kitchen and a lovely Children’s Choir performance!
