People across our neighbourhood rely on the support and services provided by our charity. From families facing financial hardship to older people experiencing loneliness, your donation helps ensure that no one in our community has to face difficult times alone.
BDCA receives little funding from government and competition for grants is intense, so we are more dependent than ever on the generosity of the community to keep our services running.
Every gift – big or small – helps us provide advice, support, and welcoming community spaces for those who need them most.
Your Impact
Every gift – big or small – will make a difference:
- £10 can help provide emergency food or essential supplies for someone in crisis
- £25 can support advice sessions helping people manage debt or housing issues
- £50 can fund community activities that reduce loneliness and build friendships
- £100 can help support families and young people through wellbeing programmes
Make a one-off donation
You can make a one-off gift to our work quickly and securely at any time through our online giving platform. You can claim Gift Aid if you’re eligible too.
You can add a message to let us know if there’s a particular area of our work that you’d like us to put your gift towards.
Become a Friend of Bonny Downs
Would you consider joining our growing community of Friends of Bonny Downs who donate monthly to our work? Monthly giving helps us plan ahead and sustain the services local people rely on.
By becoming a Friend, you will help provide ongoing support to families, older people, and young people in Newham. Even a small monthly donation can make a lasting difference.
Donate food and other items
Do you have high quality items that you no longer need? Or could you add a few household essentials to your next weekly shop? We’ll be sure to give them a good home!
We welcome online food deliveries or personal deliveries of items at our foodbank. We would appreciate:
- Non-perishable food items (such as jarred, tinned and dried foods)
- Unopened toiletries (such as shower gel, shampoo and nappies)
- New and good quality second-hand children’s shoes for ages 0 to 5
- New and good quality second-hand football boots, socks and shin pads for children and adults
- New and good quality second-hand school uniforms for local primary and secondary schools
- Brand new unopened toys (such as games, dolls, stationery and craft sets and headphones) for children in poverty
Due to very limited storage space, we’re sorry we can’t accept other items.
Leave a gift of hope in your will

If you’re interested in learning more about leaving a legacy of hope please email us with your address and we’ll post you our leaflet – or you can download it here.
And, if you do decide to include us in your will, please let us know so we can say thank you properly!
