We know that regular exercise is important for our physical, mental and emotional health, yet Newham remains one of the country’s least physically active boroughs. So BDCA is committed to providing a wide range of sports and fitness activities to help people of all ages get moving!
Our aim is to make it easy to get fit, have fun and meet new friends through a range of FREE or low cost sports and fitness activities – no expensive gym memberships required!

All ages welcome
We offer an extensive sports and fitness programme for all ages, covering everything from Pilates to Dancing and Football to Darts.
We’re also proud of our range of women-only activities, which typically includes Zumba and Women’s Fitness.
We have a dedicated programme of popular activities for people aged 65+ too, often including Tai Chi, circuit training, chair-based exercise, line dancing, bowls, darts and music & movement sessions.
Our several regular football sessions include Walking Football for the over 40s, Soccer School for pre-teens, and a dedicated evening session for women and non-binary people too.
Our extensive youth programme also includes indoor and outdoor sports for ages 9-19 and you can view our current programme here.

Bonny Downs is proud to serve as the home ground for Newham Cricket Club and around 25 other local cricket and football clubs.
Why not join them? We offer our high-quality facilities for hire at competitive rates for everything from local sports clubs to school sports and corporate fun days!
We offer high-quality sports and social facilities including three football pitches, two mini soccer pitches, a grass cricket square, cricket nets and an all-weather floodlit multi-use games area.
