Could you become a Friend of Bonny Downs?
At BDCA, we help people of all background in our local community, including families on low income, those who are homeless, young people, and lonely elders. We make a lasting difference to local people’s lives by addressing root causes of poverty, tackling isolation, encouraging healthier lifestyles, promoting community cohesion and turning disused spaces into meaningful community hubs.
We’d love for you to join our special circle of Friends who give regularly – donate just £10 a month and help us be there for the people that need us.
Why we need your support
There is a nationwide shortage in funding from the grants and awards we traditionally used, causing many charities to sadly fold. The competition for what is left is intense. It is undoubtedly a tough time for charities.
That is why we are now asking our community to become Friends so we can keep providing for people in need, instead of making tough decisions on cutting services and jobs. Your monthly gifts will help us continue to do remarkable work through our amazing staff, volunteers and facilities.
How to become a Friend
You can sign up quickly and securely online, with the flexibility to amend your gift at any time. Please select ‘Monthly Donation’ and, if you wish to avoid platform fees, you can select ‘Enter custom amount’ to reduce it to £0.
If you tick yes to the marketing option, we can keep you updated with stories of the life-changing impact your donation is helping make happen.
You will also have access to the following Friends perks:
- Invitation to special events
- £25 discount on one hire of our facilities per year, starting from your first anniversary of becoming a Friend
- Named in our Annual Report Thank Yous (unless you prefer to remain anonymous)
- Option to visit us and see our services firsthand
Thank you so much for partnering with us to transform local lives for the better!
What our Friends of Bonny Downs say:
- “I give regularly to Bonny Downs because I know they will wring every penny out of each pound I donate and invest it in improving our community!”
- “We love how BDCA’s work supports the whole community, from struggling young families to lonely elders. We give monthly so that our money can be used wherever it’s needed most throughout the year.”
- “I give to BDCA regularly because I see such a great need in our local community – and I know that even a small amount given each month can add up to make a massive difference to a vulnerable person’s life.”
Statement from our Chair
“In an age of growing isolation, extremism and division, at Bonny Downs we are living out the beauty of inclusion for everyone – old and young, housed and homeless, from all faiths and ethnicities, with differing gifts and challenges.
Margaret Mead said ‘Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it’s the only thing that ever has.’ We are seeking to live up to that challenge and BE the change we want to see.
It is an ambitious target to achieve but we really believe we can do it – with the support of our amazing community. Time is short though – we need commitments by the end of this month if we are to keep vital services running.
We’d love you to join us in this mission. If you can afford to invest £10 a month please sign up now.“
– David Mann, Chair of BDCA
