BDCA partners with Irons Supporting Foodbanks
Bonny Downs Community Association (BDCA) officially launched its partnership with Irons Supporting Foodbanks to help tackle food insecurity in Newham, at the London Stadium last Tuesday 27 October 2026.

Through this partnership, BDCA and Irons Supporting Foodbanks collect donations from football fans during West Ham United home matchdays. The generosity of supporters helps provide essential food supplies to local foodbanks, making a real difference to individuals and families facing crisis.
For over 25 years, BDCA has been serving the diverse residents of Newham, supporting local people through a range of services, including foodbank, Food Club, family support, youth activities and older people’s wellbeing programmes. Based at the WELLcome Hub in East Ham, BDCA’s Foodbank provides emergency food parcels to residents experiencing hardship, along with wraparound advice to help improve their circumstances.
With Newham now the most deprived borough in London (IMD 2025) and the cost of living continuing to rise, partnerships like this are increasingly important.
“BDCA is incredibly grateful to Irons Supporting Foodbanks, West Ham United supporters and everyone who contributes to these efforts,” said Stacey Cordery, Director of Food & Families at BDCA. “This generosity demonstrates the power of community spirit and what can be achieved when people work together to support those facing hardship. We look forward to working together to help ensure that local people have access to the food and support they need. And of course… come on you, Irons!”
