Many children in Newham are living in poverty and their families have to make heart-breaking choices between putting food on the table or warming up their home.

We’re launching our annual Toy Appeal so that despite their circumstances, children can still experience joy, and we need your help to make it happen!

Free Pensioners’ Benefit Advice

Bonny Downs Community Association has launched a new Pensioners’ Benefit Advice Service to help older residents in Newham check and claim the support they deserve.

Many pensioners are missing out on vital benefits such as Pension Credit, Attendance Allowance and Council Tax reductions. These payments that can make a big difference to everyday living costs.

We are looking for volunteers to help us run our CommuniTEA Cafe, where local residents can drop in from 9 am to 5 pm on weekdays to enjoy free tea, optional books and board games and a friendly chat with our volunteers.

Over-65s Volunteers

Our Over-65s project provides a wide variety of social activities and physical exercise sessions.

Are you interested in Indoor Bowls? Why not be a volunteer to help with setting up, as well as join in the play? You will be helping us set up and pack down sessions, and providing a warm welcome to all our participants.
