UKPN brings Christmas cheer to our food bank!

This month, the employees and partners of UK Power Networks, one of our Friends of The Foodbank, showed a great generosity of Christmas spirit by organising a brilliant prize raffle and fundraising an amazing £575 for our food bank!

Employees and contractors were invited to purchase tickets for the raffle to win prizes including a hamper full of treats and theatre tickets.

Hannah Harris and Claire Morrison, who organised the fundraiser, said:

“This Christmas, we wanted to make sure that we were giving back to the community. We organised a fun raffle for our colleagues to get involved with, to help support Bonny Downs Community Association.

“We have had an incredible amount of generous donations and are proud to support our fellow neighbours. We are looking forward to developing our continuing partnership!”

UK Power Networks owns and maintains the electricity cables and lines across London and beyond that make sure our lights stay on in Newham! By replacing cable circuits between East Ham and Beckton and the construction of a new electricity substation in Nelson Street in East Ham, it is currently working to strengthen the electricity network for the future and help meet increasing demand for power.

A huge thank you from all of us to the employees, contractors and partners of UKPN and the Nelson Street ED1SON Alliance for their generosity and support. We are so grateful for your partnership as a Friend of the Foodbank which helps us serve some of our most vulnerable neighbours with emergency food and  support.
