BDCA are so excited to create a new space for our community – the WELLcome Hub at no 35 Vicarage Lane, East Ham. We are looking for some help with turning the empty building into a beautiful, warm, and welcoming space for everyone.

Volunteer your time and skills

Are you a whizz with a staple gun and upholstery? Is a drill or an Allen key your best friend? Can you offer steady handed calligraphy and artwork to create a large ‘welcome’ wall mural? Your time and skills would be so precious to us.

Donate money

All our food relief work (Food Bank, Food Club and Family Hub) will happen here so we need tables and chairs to create a community space where we eat together.  Other larger items in need are sofas, a dishwasher, an oven, TV, storage solutions. We will also need lots of paint and signage. Of course the most important staple item is a water urn to keep all our staff and volunteers fuelled with tea!

If you’d like to give items, we would appreciate new or good quality second-hand:

• Chopping boards
• Cutlery
• Kitchen utensils
• Mugs and cups
• Plates and bowls
• Saucepans and frying pans
• Serving dishes and platters
• Tea towels

Please drop your items to The Well Community Centre, 49 Vicarage Lane only Monday to Fridays between 9 am and 4 pm addressed to Stacey Cordery. Please note, we cannot take any items not listed above.
